Privacy policy

Home Repairs Todayis a marketing and introduction service operated by Costart Projects Ltd (company no. 14812412, registered in England & Wales at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ; contact tools@costartprojects.com) on behalf of Checkatrade, the trades directory operated by Vetted Limited (company no. 04285394). This policy explains what we collect on this site and why. See about this service for who we are.

The postcode & job check

When you use the “check & call” box we process your postcode district and your description of the job to work out which phone number to show you. If you type the job in your own words, that text may be processed by an automated AI classifier to identify the trade needed. We store this data only in aggregate (counts per job type, postcode district and day); free-text descriptions are stored with number sequences removed and are not linked to you. Please don't include personal details in the job description.

Phone calls and call tracking

If you arrive from a Google advert, the local number shown may be a Google forwarding number. Calls to it are connected to the destination team as normal, and Google logs call data — start time, duration, your area code or phone number, and whether the call connected — which is shared with us in aggregate so we can measure which adverts lead to calls. Calls are not audio-recorded by this service. Calls to the concierge number are not tracked by this site.

Quote requests

If you use the online quote form we collect the details you provide — name, contact details, postcode and job description — solely to connect you with relevant vetted trades who can quote for the work. Your request is shared only with the matched trades. We do not sell your data or add you to marketing lists.

Cookies and measurement

Advertising cookies (your choice).Google's advertising tags measure which adverts lead to calls and enquiries, including connecting calls via a tracking number. These only run if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner; choose “Reject” and Google operates without cookies (see Google's privacy policy for how Google processes data). You can change your choice any time via “Cookie choices” in the footer.

Functional essentials (always on). Aggregate usage counters (page, job-type and postcode-district totals — no personal data, no cross-site tracking), a small cookie per A/B test so you see a consistent version of the site, and — if you arrive from an advert — the ad-click reference (e.g. gclid) stored in your browser so your enquiry can be attributed to the advert.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Aggregate counters cannot be linked back to you; quote-form enquiries can be deleted on request. Contact: [contact email to be inserted].
